Honey Dew

from the ABC set Poems

Dry barren a ploughed field
cracked brown in the summer time
fringed with arid tall hollow
grass reeds to crack
to break at their knees

Stillest air chokes lungs
lifeless heat, grain dirt
that smotes, grit dust
irritates, rubs barren eyes
that have missed...not seen
water, liquid honey dew
excitement, sparks of energy
Love..if it were a visible entity

Wind skin tight, crunched
lined, annoyed frustrated
needs to sense to feel
liquid honey dew, to flow
to feed, give life to
this dry barren field
