I don't mind

from the ABC set Poems

You may say you know me
I really don't mind
though I may claim your ignorance
in a different land at a later date
and you know pain
well it destroys the soul
rubs out the edges
of who you were
dynamic, naturally brave
it comes and goes
intermittently now
the person it fades
tall, stubborn faithful
now weakness sits down
at your dinner table
what of tomorrow
oh I really don't know
how many what if and when
so you may say you know me
I really don't mind.

I am beginning to understand how to read the layers in your poems and I think you write very well. I am sure you are on your way to compare to Adrienne Rich as you would like to. A unique way of expressing yourself. A very good one this one as well.
