You sing of a beautiful dawn
as I lay flat out
on the bed
resting, I stretch
and relax in thoughts
of weekend
adventures
You sing of a beautiful dawn
as I sit on the edge
of the bed
I put down my cup
it is empty
feelings anticipate
times ahead
You sing of a beautiful dawn
I get up and make a move
leave the room
with the words
drifting through
the door
left ajar...
I want to be there too
next summer
on your duvet
in the grass
to sing quietly
of our own
beautiful dawn.

Hi Louise,
what an entrancing poem, looking forward to being
with a loved one once more, simply beautiful.
