why are there no answers in the sky
I know not what I am doing
and the wind is blowing still
memories of long hair flying
the rain the coldness the chill
but the freedom of the wind
the wildness the space as a child
among the tracks the hills
why are there no answers in the sky
just grey clouds looming grey
there seems no escape
when you want to run
behind would seem so good
as ahead I am afraid
and it's another summer gone
with autumn on its way
why are there no answers in the sky

The brilliantly delineated quality of heartbreak. Reminds me a bit of the song Round & Round by Neil Young. Incredibly immediate and texturally compelling.

Thank you for your lovely comment. Just had a look at your poems and really enjoyed your first one that you submitted, it's really cool actually. We had an orange sofa as a child !! I am surprised it didn't get more reads, it's really good, my cup of tea anyway :) I liked the other two but that first one hit the spot for me, had an almost retro feel to it, how you managed that I don't know!
