Big Carlo's Women

from the ABC set Cherry ripe

Big Carlo was divorced
but didn’t lack girlfriends.
He sought them in dance halls and pubs
and practised his charisma.
He didn’t go for giggling dolly birds,
but liked them more mature
- in age, as well as in intelligence.
If his body was active,
his brain was even more.
A lot of addresses and phone numbers
were pigeon-holed within
and stored with diligence.
Though he was all for variety,
on one thing he was adamant:
he could not stand ambivalence.
One day, when we met, he looked downhearted;
I asked him why he was feeling sorry.
The lady at the bar, with the Chihuahua,
had seemed the perfect quarry,
he explained, until she revealed
that she had a live-in lover called Cynthia .
What she did next shocked my mate:
she said that if he wanted, he could watch.
No wonder that he was in such a state.
He only recovered after a double Scotch.

Hi Luigi,

this one made me laugh, especially at the end.

Thanks for the read.

Jenny.

Thank you, insert. I am chuffed with the cherry.
Would it surprise you to know that it was true?
You should have seen his face when he recounted the incident.

Luigi, poor Carlo, with all his charm and big talk off girls and his prowess, I'll bet he had never had this kind of offer before, no wonder it left him stunned...
Geertje

You are so right Geertje. It was the first time it had happened to him and was very shaken by the experience. I suggested that maybe he should have accepted the offer. You should have heard the expletives!
