My mother told me
the art of making tea
was as easy as ABC.
Always warm the pot,
Be sure the water’s hot,
Cherish what you got.
I followed her advice
which had been precise
and made it in a trice.
I felt in fine fettle
and let the brew settle.
I’m certain the kettle
had seen better days,
and that, in many ways,
being mean never pays.

Agree with Jenny, great little poem.

Cheers fatboy74, greatly appreciated. As I remarked to another author I misread the inspiration point which said that it was the teapot that had seen better days and not the kettle, as I mention in this poem, but it is a fait accompli and too late to redress the situation.

PS I must have blown my chance of getting a cherry!

We'll forgive you just this once!

Congrats on the cherry, luigi. Lovely witty little poem, glad to see our errors worked well for both of us ;)

Tony, I am very relieved and promise not to do it again. Thanks for the cherry.

Hi Rachel, glad to see that neither of us was made to pay for our oversight and being rewarded with a cherry instead. I find these Inspiration Points a good incentive to set the brain in motion.
Cheers.
