I Hate Christians

I hate Christians
They make me itch with frustration at their patronising.
It's the smugness of feeling that they're on the `right` side,
that somehow they've got it.
But at what cost?
The religion of the:
Don't touch that...
Don't do this...
Don't say that...
Don't think this...

They envy our licsence and freedom to indulge, mostly guilt free in the `sins` (not my word!!)
of our choice,
As though they're consumed by their hunger for it.

And God...
Don't get me started!

It's as though there isn't one million, five hundred and fifty five thousand, seven hundred and fifty two other religions.
(Like I said, don't get me started!)

This couple came to my door the other day,
I was cooking Polenta, had a glass of red in my hand,
and I was busy.

"I wonder if you would be interested in finding out about Jesus"
That was the woman speaking,
(I think the big bloke was her bouncer).

" No I'd rather eat broken glass, but thanks anyway!"

The joy of the witty riposte,
they left,
no doubt praying for me.

Live and let live; many people have yet to learn.

I have, and also appreciate that sometimes the religious ones are their own religion's biggest critics.

Oh, and they don't just stick to their own on that, but perhaps I step too far...

I just really love,
Cause He did,
When I judge I'm nothing like Him.

I'm not religious I'm just in love...
(to some cheesy seventies tune!)
