I was walking past an alleyway
and something caught my eye .
A young man on a ladder painting
A mural of the sky .
Contemporary artwork for display
on an old brick wall
But no one actually saw or heard ,
this artist with a call
A rainbow hue hovered ,
above clouds of stormy influence
The brush strokes definitely
created an electric presence .
I walked over to the young man there ,
when he stopped for a break
I asked him was the work commissioned ,
he said , art for arts sake .
Alleyways and art galleries ,
With young artists work on show .
Seldom are the works ever sold ,
If anyone wants to know .
The outstanding talent of street artists
Are alive and well .
On concrete canvasses
there’s a place where masterpieces dwell .
