A Day In The Life ch49

Chapter 49

Just as the gang were reaching their destination Ty spotted a couple of girls stood on the corner,
"Hey girls, you wanna come for some fun with me later?
A mixed race girl in her late teens looked over and laughed,
"What with you? You only look about twelve.
His crew started sniggering and Ty scowled round, immediately they stopped. Turning back to the girls he shouted,
"Bitch you wanna watch your mouth. Twelve¦. shit, I'd show you a trick or two.
The group of girls suddenly looked less confident, the original girl staring at the floor.
"Hey bitch, I'm talking to you.
Paul tugged on his friend's sleeve,
"C'mon bro forget it, let's go.
Angrily Ty pulled his arm away,
"Don't tell me what to do.
"Fuck you, I aint telling you what to do.
Ty glowered at him for a moment before turning back to the girls,
"You're lucky I've got shit to do girl.

Arriving on Milo Street the group broke up into pairs making sure they stayed within view of each other. They'd been on the street minutes when Paul gave out a whistle, a nod of his head was enough to draw attention to the potential victims. A group of three lads in their late teens wearing expensive clothing, one on a mobile phone and two with their I-Pod headphones hanging from the collars of their jackets.
A quick glance was enough for the group to ascertain the point at which they'd snare their prey. About fifty yards ahead in the direction the trio were walking an alleyway opened giving delivery vans access to the back of the shops.
Ty and his crew began closing in.
The three youths were unaware of the gang until it was too late. As they passed the entrance to the alley they were barged into the dark passage. Instantly they knew what was happening and tried to make a break for it, but it was no good. One tried to shout but a right hook from Ty silenced him. Instead they found themselves ushered out of view from any passers-by.

"Right what you got? Ty demanded.
"Nothing, one offered in a crisp accent, "listen we're students, we haven't got any money.
Mags, came forward menacingly,
"No money, for a start we'll have those, he snatched at the headphones, "and get your phones and wallets out.
Not wanting any trouble they did as instructed.
Jay came forward,
"What else you got?
"Nothing, that's it.
Ty was looking through the wallets, emptying the contents.
He looked round disappointed,
"They've only got seventy quid between them, pulling out a cash card he asked, "who's is this?
"M¦m...mine. The smaller of the three stammered.
"What's the n¦n¦number? Ty mimicked.
The three looked at each other uncertainly.
Grabbing the youth Mags stuck his face in the other boy's,
"The fucking number.
"Seven, six, four, two.
Ty looked at Tarique,
"Go try the hole in the wall, we'll wait here, cover your face though bro, you know they got them cameras.
"Give us a scarf then.
Jay stood back from the immediate view of the students and removed the bandana he'd tied over his face and passed it to Tarique.
Pulling his baseball-cap lower over his eyes he tied the scarf over his nose and went to head off.
The owner of the card stopped him,
"Wait, it's six, eight, eight, five.
Tarique shook his head and headed back out onto the road.
Ty turned to the student,
"What you thought you could fool us rich boy, what you think we're idiots or something?
Pulling out a blade he walked towards the now shaking student.
As Ty approached his victim burst out crying,
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
"Pussy.
Ty accompanied the word with a hard slap across the face.
One of the others stepped forward,
"Leave him alone.
"You getting brave boy? Ty demanded, at the same time Mags punched the youth on the side of his face. It was enough to set the rest off and the students found themselves beaten to the floor in seconds.

Tarique returned waving a handful of notes,
"Sorted.
The crew took one last look at the beaten students on the floor.
As they walked off one looked up,
"Why do you do this, you're animals?
Ty reduced his voice to a whimper,
"Why do we do this? raising his voice again he spat, "shit, we aint all got Mummy and Daddy throwing money at us, for some of us this is the only way we're gonna get any of this.
Ty had a look of contempt on his face as he shook one of the I-Pods to emphasise the point.
Then turning he ran down the alley.
Getting onto the street they continued to run until they had left the immediate area.
"I thought they were foreign, Paul called, "it's gonna be hot, we better get back to the Riverside, get out this rain.
Taking the back streets they headed home pleased with their haul.
