A Day In The Life ch64

Chapter 64

There was nothing Raymond could have done even if he'd wanted to. The first he knew of what was happening was when the first bullet smashed into Bailey's head. It had come clean through the landlord's skull, spraying brains into the tramp's face. Raymond knew a professional hit when he saw one.
The assassin had been cold and business like and would have had no qualms about shooting both him and Nigel had they tried to get in the way.

Reaching for his mobile phone Raymond punched in the emergency number.
"There's been a shooting, he began, "the victim's definitely dead.
After relaying the details of his whereabouts Raymond hung up and turned to Nigel,
"You'd better go, I'll deal with this.
Nigel nodded numbly and walked off in a daze.

After he'd gone Raymond looked down at the still form on the floor,
"You crossed the wrong person somewhere, he muttered shaking his head.
There was only one outfit he knew of that could have carried out this type of hit. The assassin was definitely ex-special-forces.
As the police cars began pouring into the car park he decided he couldn't help them. There was no point, they'd never get them anyway.
