Clowns

Some of us need caves to dwell
Whilst others live in huts
And the mansions stretching high
Into the sky
Leave vapour trails from helicopters
Swirling in the fog
Whilst the water-swimmer
Basks in his life

Some of us
Are clowns
Some of us
Run circuses
And others
Settle down

Some of us need presents
That will litter our old floors
As the bells will ring in
Unison outside
Some of us wrap happiness
In paper made of smiles
As materials are shallow
By the tree

Some of us
Are clowns
Some of us
Run circuses
And others
Settle down
