The Mange.

from the ABC set I Think Therefore

I saw a mangy dog last night, howling at the moon.
Half its fur had fallen out and the rest would follow soon.
I watched it as it scratched and howled and pity filled my soul
I wondered why the parasites should exact such a heavy toll.

Why couldn’t they control themselves – control their mindless greed?
Why hadn’t evolution blessed them with a limit on their seed?
It makes no sense to consume and grow without some form of brake.
And why no symbiosis, some form of give as well as take?

Mange mites live in dog hairs - much like we once lived in trees.
Spreading exponentially 'till their host is on its knees.
What could God have been thinking when He created such as these?
Such greedy, selfish creatures - worse than lice or ticks or fleas.

The parasites cause pollution and the poor mutt's hair falls out.
Like Mother Earth losing ever more trees so long as we're about.
This poor dog needs some kind of help - something has to change.
Or else there'll just be an ugly corpse - covered with the mange!

Parasites are so stupid they often kill what they need the most.
For what chance the greedy parasite - when it hasn't got a host?
Yet we act like mindless parasites blindly consuming all we can.
we just can't change our habits and we don't really have a plan.

Something really has to change - beyond the useless talk.
People have to drive cars less and to cycle, jog and walk.
We have to rethink everything; reappraise what life is for.
Learn to love each other or we’ll keep on consuming more.

So while they argue over targets which you know they’ll never meet.
Ponder on, why we still dance along, to the ever quickening beat.
Wonder why we sing of love and yet kill strangers in the street.
Ask yourself why you always want - another little treat.

‘More, more, more’, a voice says ‘you do not have enough quite yet.’
But the more you have, the more you want, and more you have to get.
Could it be that the Devil has amplified his damning call…
and it resonates inside us - tries making sinners of us all.
Maybe he’s looking for some company - when he takes The Final Fall?
I'm sure you’ll all be very welcome - be ye great or be ye small :O)

A study published on July 3rd (2008) finds that not one of the G8 countries has come even close to fulfilling its climate change pledges!
Worst offenders: US, Canada and Russia.
Well, what a surprise :O)

Following the news over the last few days I notice that with the expected ‘defrosting’ of Greenland all the usual suspects are already planning how to divide the ‘spoils’!

I think that the Earth should be considered as a living organism and that Global Warming and Climate Change should be seen as symptoms of the Planetary Parasite Greed disease.

Why is it that a, so called, intelligent life form is so selfish that all it can manage to see is its own short term interests at the expense of its own long term survival and the destruction and death of its host???

You would think that research into all the human activities that effect the planet would be considered in any proposed plans to save the Earth and not just simply the amount of carbon dioxide that is produced.

Has anyone ever considered what role oil and other resources that mankind exploits might play in the development of the planet?

Could it be that we are so blinded by hubris that we cannot see any form of life which doesn't resemble ours?
Could it be that oil plays as important a role in the life cycle of the planet as blood does in ours?
