Reading Pope Benedict’s views on Iraq today (and noting his opposition to the war in the first place) it set me wondering exactly which religion George W actually represents and whether he still claims to talk to God everyday?
It seems to me that the only god who would actually support the ‘war’
in Iraq would be the Jewish one – well that would explain a lot!
I've never belived that God supports war
but I do believe that
you have to defend yourself
and the things you hold dear...
yet, I admire the Dalai Lama.
It is certainly a bridge too far
to invade someone else
and claim it as self-defence.
Upon discovering it was merely paranoia
to then attempt to disguise the 'mistake'
with the claim it was for their own good
is deceit of the highest level
and shows contempt for both truth and justice!
What kind of hypocrite could pretend
that God approves such lies and war-mongering
and what kind of hypocrites
continue to support such men?
Bush says “…Removing Saddam Hussein from power was the right decision.”… as opposed to what?
Invading Iraq, finding no WMD and saying
“Oops, sorry Saddam. Err, any chance of you giving us all your oil?”
Perhaps God’s true support for Bush
is reflected in the present recession.

Or maybe, just MAYBE there is no god at all.

As I've said before LOTO Buddhism is a very attractive religion which gets on fine without a God.
The point of this piece isn't really whether or not God exists but rather if Bush uses religion to sanction his deeds and draw support from the mindless.

You've obviously never been attacked by a crazed buddhist outside an indian restaurant in Essex town centre late on Saturday night!
But seriously, Bush might claim to be catholic or protestant or whatever but if there is a god(and here's hoping) and it's a good god not an evil one(here's hoping) then Bush has nowhere to hide when he meets it face to face when the time comes. He has so much innocent blood on his hands it's unbelievable.

I got a bit carried away on my re-edit and almost added "Vote Obama!" :O)

Something that has been worrying me a bit of late is that there is little doubt that what helped Obama beat Hilary Clinton, as much as anything else, was that he had a lot more cash and Hilary was reduced to begging her supporters to log onto her site and pledge money.
Now, while the West makes some wonderful claims for Democracy, people often seem to fail to notice that you have to be extremely rich or supported by the very, very rich to have enough cash to ‘put your case over’ (and sabotage your opponents).
Of course it could be that there are a lot of very rich philanthropists chucking money at their favourite politicians because of their love for truth and justice or maybe it’s “Quid quo pro” and backs are awaiting Barack’s scratching... still, even that couldn’t be worse than the alternative I expect.

Have you read Alan Watts? I find his ideas about what God is very appealing.
