"The apple tree"

from the ABC set Transparent mirrors.

The one apple tree,
That does not see,
When its fruits are about to fall,
With the spreading cape of nightfall.

The golden apples,
Taught by the entrails,
Of the tree’s branches,
The bearers of many verses,
Of the apple seeds,
The rains of life on which it feeds,
So the fruits ripen,
So that one day their own roots will deepen.

Look ! The first apple has fallen,
To the waves of the vast ocean,
Exploring the lands of Earth,
Searching for rich soil to give birth,
To another apple tree,
To another root of history...

Really enjoyed reading this, Nathan. Loved the line, 'With the spreading cape of nightfall.' The poem flowed beautifully. My only reservation is the words 'So' and 'Look!'. Thank you for the read.

I'm on a writing journey and have moulted a few times along the way. At this present time I'm a chrysalis awaiting a metamorphosis

Hello Mazrilyn.
Thank you for your comment, I appreciate your honesty. I understand the slight problem with ‘look’ and ‘so’, and I have to admit that this sort of thing is what I have to be careful about. I’ll try to examine every new poem I write and fix anything that could be problematic. Thanks again.
Nathan.
