look in the morning
and how you stomp your toddler feet
across the bedroom to the toilet
with your oversized
I ♥ N Y t-shirt
curtain-dropped down your thighs.
I earn a cute, little wink
and an airborne kiss –
it lands softly on my bare chest
where there should’ve been a pocket
to save it for later,
but now is just as good.
You leave me a satisfied smile
as I walk you to the door
and lips a passionné ‘till next time’.
I close the door and get dressed;
I Hugo-Boss camouflage your smell;
I slide my life back on my finger...
