It was my first year of Engineering, first semester. A semester is of six months duration. The first four months have passed. The term was about to end. The term is the period from the day on which classes start till the day when classes finish. Term ends were always tedious. All the students had to submit their journals and workshop jobs. Jobs are the things we have to make during the semester. In first year of Engineering all the branches are combined and syllabus is also the same.
There were two jobs left. One was black smithy and other was plastic moulding. Our college didn't have the machine to perform the tasks. All students were told that one day the machine would be brought to the college for the first year students. It was also told that plastic jobs should be performed in a group of five. The workshop attendant showed the students the demo. The condition was that all the students had to finish on that day only. I was there at that time.
I stood at the side of the machine. I thought that if a group of students who belonged to my branch came I would ask them to include me in their group. I stood there for an hour but no student from my branch came. I got bored and worried. That's why I went to the hostel. I stayed there for thirty minutes. The hostel was nearby to the college. After thirty minutes I went to the workshop to check if the students from my branch were making the job. Thirty minutes ago, some students from my branch had made the job. Time was ticking. Every moment that passed made me more worried. Numerous thoughts of fear were coming to my mind. I didn't lose my patience. I again went to the hostel to take some rest.
I returned after fifteen minutes. A group of students belonging to my branch were making their job. They were half way in making it. I went to them and asked a fat student in the group “Could you please make my job also?” He saw me very furiously. After a pause he told me a flat ‘No’. It made me mute. I was disheartened. The time was ticking away. Every moment that passed made me more worried. Half of the day was passed. I didn't have the job ready with me. I thought I should ask the workshop attendant. I didn't have the courage to ask him. I thought he would scold me. I should have taken a chance but I didn't. I start roaming here and there.
Fifteen minutes passed. I was a spectator who saw people making their jobs. Some students started submitting their jobs. I felt more worried. I started losing hope. I started feeling depressed. A student from my branch came. He had come here to submit his job. His name was Sachin. He stayed on the 2nd floor in the hostel. Both of us were in the same branch. I saw him. I went to him.
He asked me about my plastic moulding job. I told that I have not made it. He told me to stay here with him. Workshop superintendent was collecting the jobs from the student. After collecting the jobs he was keeping it on the table. He told every student to put a slip containing their name, roll number in the plastic moulding job.
Sachin stole a plastic job, took out the slip and gave it to me. He told me to write my details in a piece of paper. I did the same. My job was submitted by the workshop superintendent. I was happy.
God had sent his messenger. This time I didn't pray for help but asked him “now what would happen God?” God is great. God has a mechanism according to which he helps. Thanks God for helping me and taking me out of the trouble.
