The time was around 11 AM. I was returning from my chemistry tuition on my Bajaj scooter. It was a very heavy scooter. You needed to put a lot of effort to draw it from its stand. It looked very similar to an elephant but the only difference was the size.
I used the same route to return home every day but on that day something strange happened to me. I have never thought that such a thing would happen to me. The first reason was that the road used to be empty. Second was that it was divided in lanes. Third was that I was not driving very fast. It happened due to my carelessness. I should have focussed on the road rather than thinking on some stupid subject. I didn't remember what I was thinking. Suddenly there was an impact. Something hit my scooter. I lost my balance. Due to the impact I was thrown at a distance. My scooter was thrown a few meters away from me.
I was unaware of what has happened. I got up and started putting my scooter on the stand. A person helped me in putting it on the stand. He told me to run away. He told me that I had hit a child on the way who was crossing the road. I neglected what he said. I went to pick up the mat. After picking it up I went to the scooter and started placing it on the footstep.
Suddenly people started gathering around there. Relatives of small child came immediately. A relative took him to the hospital. He was immediately admitted and medical procedures were started. It was on the other side of the road. I also went to the hospital. I was very calm as nothing had happened. I called my father and told everything. He came to the hospital within ten minutes. My father promised the people that whatever would be the expenditure it would be given. This pacified the people. My father told me to go home. I went home. I only had minor injuries. I was all right.
My father returned home after an hour. He started telling me that I was lucky. He also told me that when these types of accidents occur and the culprits were caught, the mob gets angry. Sometimes they start beating the culprit. I was not hit by these people a single time. Sometimes they take him to the police station. A first action report is written against him. He had to pay a fine. In addition to that his driving license could be cancelled or he had to serve a sentence of six months or a year. Nothing of that sort happened to me.
I prayed to God for the wellbeing of the child. Proper medical attention was given to him. He had recovered completely. I thanked God for again saving me from the trouble.
