I live in a world of babbling screams,
The warm sun on my skin, the cold chill in my heart,
It is now that I need you but I’ll not tell you that,
You are supposed to realise as I push you away,
That my soul is aching for a caring embrace.
Every time I hurt you with acid-tongued scorn,
Every time I ignore you and show I don’t care,
I’m just trying to punish myself.
You can’t let me in, ‘cause I won’t let me out,
I’m withering inside this husk I created,
Alone with my babbling screams.

"You can’t let me in, ‘cause I won’t let me out"
Loved this line. So true for so many.

I'm really sorry that you find truth in it, although not altogether surprised. It's good to know you are not alone. God bless and keep the flickering candle out of the wind.
