A Day In The Life ch24

Chapter 24

"Come on, let's get out the way, Ty instructed, "too much going on round here, let's head over to T-Bar's.
Grunting in agreement the group headed away from Union Road.
"What about Jay, someone should phone him, Arran who'd joined them offered, "see what he's up to, he might have cash innit.
Ty laughed,
"Listen rude boy, you know he'd have gone to school.
"Yeah bruv but it's dinner now, he'll have his phone on.
"Good thinking, he can get some cash from his, Paul rubbed his hands, "get a bit more smoke. Here you go Aran, use my phone.
They had just turned into Jackson Street when they heard a shout,
"Oi!
Looking over in the direction of the shout they saw T-Bar on the other side of the road.
"How's it going, we was on our way round to see you, Ty called crossing, "what you up to rude boy?
"Nish, they clasped hands, semi-hugging each other.
As the others approached they repeated the gesture in turn.
Puffing out his chest T-Bar looked at the group,
"I got some studio time blood.
"Rar, Ty looked impressed, "things are taking off bro, grime superstar in the making, get yourself out of this dump. he swept his arm gesturing at the surroundings, "You just make sure we're on the entourage.
T-Bar laughed,
"Safe bro, safe.
"Jay's on his way now, he's on Riverside Street now, Aran interrupted, "and he's nipping in the chippy on the way, see if he can get some cash.
"Where did you say we'd see him?
"Told him we'd be round here.
"Better find somewhere to chill for a bit then.
Walking over to one of the houses they congregated on the large porch.
Paul started making a joint while T-Bar stood experimenting with his rapping technique, upon seeing Paul he stopped,
"Hey I've got some beers in the house that'll go nicely with that, I'll go and get them.
"Don't get too excited mate, it's my last joint.
"Seen, seen, I'll get them anyway.

A few minutes later they were joined by Jay, the Chinese boy waving a twenty-pound note above his head,
"You alright lads?
"Result, Ty exclaimed, "right who knows where to get some weed?
Aran volunteered,
"I'll go.

Clutching a carrier-bag T-Bar arrived back and sat himself next to Paul,
"Who wants a beer? Jay, what g'wan?
"Safe T, safe.
They touched knuckles,
"These told you yet? I got meself some studio time bwoy.
"Nah, is it?
"Yeah bro.
As they started chatting the group was joined by a trio of girls.
Ty raised his eyebrows suggestively,
"Hey Suzi Loosie.
One of the girls tutted while another looked at the floor.
"Shit what you busting breath over bitch?
"Fuck you Ty.
"Fuck me? Yeah you wish Corrine.
"As if¦ You alright Paul, Jay?
The crew greeted the girls, T-Bar offering a can of lager,
"You alright yeah? I got me some recording time in a studio ya know.
Sue looked excited for him,
"Have you?
"Listen Sue, T-Bar looked at the fair-haired girl seriously, "we all knew it was only a matter of time.
Ty leant over,
"What's he telling you about the studio?
Paul joined in,
"Not the studio again?
Looking at them T-Bar looked skywards,
"Boys, boys, jealousy'll get you nowhere.
Paul passed the joint to Ty and pointed,
"Look who it is.
Looking over Ty called,
"OI GAZZA.
The young boxer greeted everyone in the customary fashion.
Paul indicated at the holdall,
"Where you been, gym?
"Like you have to ask, Ty interrupted, "where else does my man go but the gym.
The group started laughing.
"Yeah I see your brother's spar in there pumping some weight b'woy.
"Who's that Dwaine? Yeah we see him earlier, he didn't look too happy.
Gazza shrugged before switching his attention to the girls,
"Hey Corrine, wassup¦
Ty cut him off,
"Time of the month, you know how they get.
"Shut up Ty, Corrine shook her head, "I'm sweet babe how about you?
Looking round Ty fixed his gaze on the remaining girl,
"So what you up to?
"Look at the size of this, Aran stumbled up the stairs out of breath, "and it's meant to be good shit.
As Jay caught the bag of weed the rest looked on exclaiming at the size.
Looking on, pleased at the reaction Aran looked over at Jay,
"Giz da rizla.
Ty returned his attention to the girl,
"So Ash, you just moved in on the estate yeah? How do'you know Corrine and that?
"I dunno from school, Sue's my cousin though¦
"Hey I was only joking with Sue, I've known her years, looking over he shouted, "Hey Sue aint we known each other for years?
Shaking her head and pulling herself away from T-Bar Sue called back disinterestedly,
"What's that?
Ty smiled,
"I'm not as bad as all that am I.
Corrine interrupted,
"Nah he's cool, a bit too much crack, but he's okay.
Ty jumped up,
"What d'you say?
Looking surprised by the reaction Corrine flinched,
"What?
"What the fuck did you say, about me and crack?
Corrine's shoulders sagged,
"I'm sorry Ty, I was just saying¦
Ty interrupted,
"Saying what bitch?
Gazza stood across her protectively,
"Leave it out Ty, she was only joking.
Paul interrupted,
"Come'on Ty, everyone knows you like a pipe mate.
Ty glared.
Sue stood up,
"Come'on, let's go.
Gazza looked at Corrine and kissed her,
"Don't worry yeah, I'll see you later. I'll finish about nine, meet me at my mum's yeah?
"Course.
Ty interrupted,
"Aye bitch what the fuck you saying?
Gazza narrowed his eyes,
"Leave it.
As the girls walked down the street Ty shook his head,
"Dumb sluts, who the fuck do they think they are.
Gritting his teeth Gazza pretended not to hear.
