Reminiscence of a Confused Adolescence - Poem 1 - Make Your Own Dad

from the ABC set The Reflective Collective

Two eyes to see the truth.
One tongue to question lies.
To ears to hear the rumours.
One nose to smell out pork-pies.

To legs to run for cover.
To arms to hold and smother.
One smile from ear to ear.
Sixth sense to notice fear.

One mind that won’t grow old,
One heart that won’t grow cold.
One chest to soften blows,
My dad, from head to toe.
