To end up by the sea-front

from the ABC set 2. Metamorphosis before Thirty

To end up by the sea-front would spell a perfect turn,
Sinking your toes into the Arabian sand,
Dreaming away of a distant land.

You shout... into the distance with broken voice,
Of course you can stay tonight
Though I may not be your company ,
My work keeps me to grind
On the millstone till the owls take flight.
The moon is risen, the waves caress the shore.
The tide thunders onwards, now and forevermore.
