You never hear stories about the average joe leaving his impression on the world, things like that are taken in stride. The effects of their actions ripple through our society unnoticed; changing everything without a sound. When you think about it, our actions will have consequences that are good or bad. These consequences cannot be changed. They are what they are.
When people remember someone, it seems like they never remember the big things. The little things stick with us. Even now, I find myself thinking about the things people will remeber me by. The sweet scent of a milky cup of chai I have each morning, the rich and earthy smell of my worn-out leather work gloves, the familiar odor of my cologne or aftershave or shampoo. I'm convinced that these are the things that people will never forget. And what about physical things? My ancient lava lamp that lasted longer than it should have, that same pair of work gloves that sit on my desk, the gold collectors knives I split up between my friends and I last summer, the list goes on.
I usually don't reach out to my readers this way, but for just a moment, sit back and think about the things that people will remember you by...
