I’d rather untie the line
and let the boat drift
in currents without
direction, to pass along in the
flow of natural movement
weathered here and there from
wind of forest waters to pass
loons in their searching
sea gulls in their seeking,
fish in their lurking, and
somehow the strains of life
left behind, the shadow of
strife forgotten.

I am overwhelmed by all the good folks who gave me such joyous and supporting words. I find myself experimenting a little, in fact a lot. Am enjoying writing more and knocking down all fences to see what I can convey. One read years ago said writing is like walking through a door and discovering there is no walls, roof, nor floor---now what are you going to say? Neat Eh? Cheers and a good bucketful of thanks to insert...and mark...and jenny...and pretty rose. Merci a vous. Richard LP

Pia, your encouragement is always appreciated. Isn't it interesting how a particular poem catches your own attention, like this one? I really enjoyed writing it, almost like having a nice piece of fish. Richard LP
