Beyond Life’s Overdrive

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion 2

My fist is clenched
with fire
raised defiantly at snowflakes

rushing against my strength
in swirls and whirls
for attention

as if I am the sole inhabitant
on planet earth.

I rise to the occasion
wrapping arms around myself
tighten my collar

then struggle
to keep my perspective.

I will not fail to reach
my destination

I will not be deterred from
the vision placed in my heart.

I am strong and able to
dance between snowflakes
my song of escape.

A truly powerful and inspiring poem! I love the tone this poem speaks with. Something I couldn't help reading out loud. A cherry from me ;-)

Nathan.

Thank you Nathan. I have done some experimenting in my writing, lately. Many, many years ago (imagine, I'm getting close to 69, and living proof the mind can retain and enlarge its written creativity)I read---"Prepare to put your foot forward after opening a door and suddenly discovering there is no floor to step on, nor walls, nor ceiling." And I add---now step into space and as you begin to fall, begin your writing journey. Hurry. Thank you for the cherry. RLP
