Beyond Life’s Great Moments
I am threatened with rain
when I desire fire
the past a consumption of each
precious breath
a moment in time nearby as
yesterday’s newspaper
describing the Temple of Zeus
among its scattered heaps
and how rushing windstorms
assaulted New Orleans.
Yet I am not engulfed by obscure
views as I arise from thermals
like an eagle my mind alive with
freedom and unchained spirit.

'I am threatened with rain

I think a lot of people could relate to this piece. The poem is wonderfully crafted and very true. Well done.
Nathan.

Thank you, Nathan. As you can probably surmise, I am trying some different expressions and feel released to verbalize in various ways. Chimo. Richard LP

Note: I don't know how three responses recorded themselves, as above. Computers can do strange things. As a matter of fact, the other day I received 26 repeat messages re one of my short stories. Yes, strange indeed. RLP
