Cape Spear
empty the ocean ‘cause
sandbars are coming
as echoes
slimy rocks expose
their slippery touch, as
lonely friends
furnace-stoked sun
uncovers razor fish
clams and crabs,
drying out forever
seagull territory, their
white-splotched shore
and erk---erk cries
wind and soaring

Another beautiful poem, so simple and effective :-)
I especially enjoyed this verse;
'slimy rocks expose
their slippery touch, as
lonely friends'

Yes, very beautiful indeed. A joy to read! Well done.
Nathan.

Thank you, Nathan. As expressed to someone else, I found a cache of poems which had been mislaid, and am humbly placing them on this post. Some of my short poems were a deliberate challenge for me; to see if I could pack a little punch in the shortest number of words. And enjoy compressing these thoughts in the meantime. Cheers, Richard LP

And thank you, too, Beeme for your kind words. When I visit the woods, my intention is to close my eyes after viewing everything within sight, then recreate a vision-camera for me to begin my poem later, upon returning home. Keep writing, Richard LP
