Cavendish Beach, PEI

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion 2

Whitecaps gleam as mountain
tops and shuttling ahead ocean
sweeps shoreline flat

as a beaver’s tail

clams, coloured stones, driftwood
surfing in on high tide.

Bathers in designer swimsuits
watch from spreading towels,
sizzling beach a natural hazard

boardwalk drums an avalanche
of feet, visitors anxious
for ocean’s view

a fleet of sailboats, seagulls,
sky; snapshots of activity.

I love the last two lines and just enjoyed this poem very much. Your poems about nature really show just how much you love and appreciate the beauty of this planet. Shame so many destroy it...

Well done.

Nathan.

Thank you so much, Nathan. The beauty which surrounds us is really a meaningful adventure. Within it we can escape. RLP
