EDMONTON CENTRE PLAZA poem

from the ABC set ALBERTA POEMS then and now

Edmonton Centre Plaza

Pausing in her search
for change
she throws the chip-wagon man
a shy grin

"Three regulars please,"
and nudges her growing tummy
against the wagon
for support

two kids growling for
lunch, another on the way.

Hi Jupiter, isn't writing fun? Sometimes my stuff seems so serious, once in a while I wrote something funny that caught my eye. The scene in this poem is real, it was just a matter of putting it into words. Thanks for the comment. Richard LP

Thank you, Julie. I read in the paper yesterday, Canadians need to bring more young ones into the world. We need population. I remember working in Moosonee, Ontario in 1966 and someone said, "There's still almost 1,000 kms to the Arctic Circle. Such a big country. URL for Richard L.
