Gone-Gone

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion 2

The snowman is a smudge
upon the front lawn,
once mighty with top hat
and broom, carrot eyes and carved
mouth. Chest body once hard
now melting in the sun;
temperature fooling everyone.
Fun set aside for dinner
leaving snow-friend alone to
fend for self, knowing
children return even if only
for leftover dreaming.

I like this one, Richard...a case of going-going-gone, but that's the thing with snowmen, I guess;-)

Thank you, Tina. It was fun doing something different with a snowman left behind as a clump of snow. They are never forgotten. I am having a great time writing my poetry, unhindered from submitting my work to publishers, and able to focus on writing and posting. I still do my very best with the poems I post. My older age recognizes that waiting for three months to a year in many cases, for an editor to indicate whether they wish to publish my work or not, is no longer an option for me. Also I used to use 75% of my time simply re-editing and submitting to sought out markets. Phew. Now I can focus 100% of my three hours per day on simply writing. Marvelous. Cheers, from Richard LP Please note: my posting much work has nothing to do with my ego. I simply enjoy sharing possibly new ideas and angles for writing, reminding others of different ways to present their own submissions. RLP
