I Feel Like a Split Wagon

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion 2

To flit like a Cardinal
sweating thunder
loosing bolts of lightning

caring enough to pause
and see any mountains fold
into the ocean

or like a child racing
maneuvering sidewalk’s charm
falling into the curbside
scraping a knee

and finding a dime
I lost last week.
