ISLE MADAME, CAPE BRETON ISLAND poem

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion

Isle Madame, Cape Breton Island

Plunge to your proper depth
ancient anchor,
of wood and line and
stone

children watch with
eager stares,
hopeful eyes
want mama to stop
worrying

tomorrow,
the fish will overrun
the nets.
