scraggly bunches dip
and twirl, one direction
then another
an
organized confusion
wingtip advantage
riding each gust of wind,
gliding to ecstasy
on northern’s flight, swoop
and turn again
V-ploughing
playing chase-the-leader, a
feathered flying wedge
geese families
three squadrons strong
heading for summer
wind-chopping along
