Political Correctness
We are subdued in a cocoon
of purity, of righteous thinking, of
correctness, where the general population
is quick to pull the plug on
the innocence of stated expressions.
Racism allegations and misunderstandings create
a chasm between co-operation and
unity, where the tongue decides who is at fault
and words like gay, once encouraging an
attitude of happiness now create
debates and confrontation; something
innocent as a screw is twisted
into an acronym of lustful thoughts.
How the innocents of this world call out
their plight from endless war-torn countries,
to a world immersed too often in
nonsensical issues; to turn their attention towards
those in need of love and understanding
a hug, medicine, decent homes
and food for children with leaping minds.

'Racism allegations and misunderstandings create

so very true... Another powerful and thought-provoking poem, Richard, a big well done!
Nathan.
