A Rest

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion 2

Tumbling
backwards from a
comfortable
seat on a fallen
bough allows me
to quickly contemplate
the possibility of
a harsh arrest and
I do land
with a forceful
thump

thankfully
only my hand
feels sharp pain from
a piercing branch.

As I lay fully stretched
the blue above
sifts through layers
of Autumn
and trembling aspen
twirl leaves as
gifts to me.

Indrani Ananda

That last stanza is lovely = "The blue above sifts through layers of Autumn, and trembling Aspens twirl leaves as gifts to me". I could paint this, I feel.

Hello IA, Nature is so fulfilling. And I still remember that day, sun shining, back resting and the air full of leaves trilling. Thank you for your kind comments. Richard LP
