I belong in the house of my
Father---
from early life
the nurturing and breath of living
Then separation
beyond means
Holy Grail of materialism
and a falling
Redemption is an advance of
emotions
and promises from one who cares
Kneeling I rebuke my failings
forgiveness a gift
as I return to the house
of my yearning
I am fire and I am son.

This reminds me of the story of the 'Prodigal Son' described in the Bible in Luke 15:11-32.
I very much enjoyed this. Well done.
Nathan.

Hello Nathan, Thank you for your usual encouraging comments. What is strange is this poem simply rolled across my screen, without even a thought of the Prodigal Son. Perhaps there was a personal need for my writing it, since there was much satisfaction after completion. Richard LP
