are rockets falling
where children cry all night
feet cold
power shut off
and families hiding
like rats? They learn
to behave
without movement
hearts contained
Levi’s Bar Mitzvah soon
forgotten and
dwell within darkness
they must from
lessons learned well
at Auschwitz.
Yesterday Isaac was harmed
by a fiery ball bearing
pain for a ten year old boy
now crying out…
Why Isaac and Ishmael did
you not reconcile differences
ancestral days ago?
Why must the blood of your
offspring continue to flow?

A constant and current issue Richard. It should be ressolved in a peaceful fashion, shouldn't it?
I hope I got it right?

I think there is hope on the horizon... I pray so.

Too much of this in the world. A very good poem. Well done.
Nathan.

Pia, there is only one way to resolve this whole issue, and it is praying one for another. The sad fact is, most of the combatants are all Jewish from the original twelve tribes who settled in Israel, Palestine, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Iran. History in this area is on a merry-go-round of violence, from two brothers who began it all. Rather sad, eh? Richard LP

Mangone---Yes, pray, and often too for all these fine people. I feel poetry should not just be about the beauty of nature, but also of the beauty of the evolving of mankind, even through periods of distress. Thank you for reading my work. Richard LP

Thank you so much, Nathan. We must be the protectors of children, and yet too often they are the victims of violence. Poetry is like a canvas with the wounds of the world seeping through each crease. Richard LP
