Winter Comes

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion 2

Birch trees are handcuffed
by frigid wind, tormenting storm
unwilling to share the forest---
snowflakes rooting for a new season.

This poem shows the brutality of nature, but it's
still a beautiful poem.

Thankyou for the read Richard.

Whoa! How can such a short piece be so powerful?! really need to know how you manage to get so much meaning into your poetry using the minimum amount of words... Amazing stuff. Well done.

Nathan.

Thank you, Jenny. I truly believe Nature is God's gift for us to enjoy. I spent many years canoeing, snowshoeing, hiking, camping year round and had the chance to sniff out the scent of trees and lakes and hills. Of course that was up until my stroke almost twelve years ago. Much improved now. Richard LP

Nathan, I am half Irish and half French, and I carry a bag of shamrocks and fleur-de-lis over my shoulder. To be honest, my wife often gets the final word. If she likes the poem, it's a go. So one day, if you should happen onto a lovely young lady like the one I married 36 years ago, you will fully understand. Great day for you, this day. Richard and Esther
