Out For Blood 31

from the ABC set OFB

Jill sighed and spoke softly. ‘He said, “An eye for an eye, this life for Billys' life.”’
‘So it looks like he knew about your plan all along?’

‘Yeah, who’d of thought that fucker had half an education being what he was?’
Gregg looked again at the rain hitting Hals’ face. ‘I don’t think he was one of them.’

‘What do you mean?’
Gregg pointed with his chin. ‘The rain, it isn’t burning his skin.’
‘I’m telling you Gregg, he was definitely one of them, of that I have no doubt.’

Gregg looked over at Billys’ body. ‘Okay, we’ll see…’ he then began dragging Billy over to the cell that Hal was in but burnt his hands on the wet clothes doing so.

Jill went into the cell and pulled off Hals’ gloves handing them to Gregg. ‘Here, might be a bit big though.’ She wasn’t wrong.
Gregg put them on and ripped off Billys’ orange vest, his body had still been affected by the rain but not like his face. He held Billy up at the cell door and with a shove he dropped him on Hals’ body and watched as the rain hit his torso, but again it did no more damage.

Gregg and Jill stood looking at them for a moment in silence.

Jill spoke first. ‘Maybe it’s the rain; perhaps it won’t burn you anymore.’
Gregg felt he had nothing to loose and took off a glove, he then held out his hand under the falling rain. ‘Ow! Fuck!’ It still burnt him.

Jill raised her shoulders. ‘Guess I was wrong.’
‘Ya think?’
‘Okay, if the rain burns you, why not them?’
‘I don’t know, maybe it’s because they’re dead or something.’

‘Well that’s it then; all you have to do is die!’
‘What… and then I’ll be cured?’ Greggs’ eyes widened. ‘What a fantastic plan Jill, why the hell didn’t I think of that?’

‘I’m only trying to help you out here Gregg.’
‘Well ya know what…?’ he didn’t bother to finish.
Gregg then took off the other glove; in exasperation he slung it across the room. ‘We have to get out of here before anyone else turns up!’

‘Do you think someone might have heard those shots?’
Gregg shook his head. ‘I don’t know… if they did they probably would have been here by now.’
‘But it’s still raining; perhaps they’ll come when it stops.’
Gregg knew what Jill had said made a lot more sense than them not hearing the gunfire. ‘Well the only hope we have is to get out while it’s still raining.’

‘And how do you propose we do that? You go out in this and you’ll end up looking like tapioca.’
Gregg smiled. ‘We take the cops’ car,’ he said simply. ‘You do drive don’t you?’

‘Have you forgotten how we first met?’
‘How could I? I made such a big impression on your car!’
Jill wanted to say “Vickys’ car” but the correction seemed somewhat pointless.

‘Okay, here’s what we do… you drive the car up to the front door and—’
‘But it’s only a few feet down past the door Gregg.’ She said pointing.
‘Yeah, and that few feet might cost me an ear, or maybe even part of my nose!’

Jill sighed. ‘Okay, go on.’
‘When you get the rear door lined up with the door here… open it wide and I’ll run out and dive in. I close the door... and we drive off!’

Thanks, this really should have been tagged on to OFB 30, but I didn't want to make the post too long.
