on their way to the ground
he soon puts down volcanic rebellions.
snakes have learned his lesson.
he sculpts grand canyons,
writes on learned minds,
and paints thick on the brows
of worried men

Camilla, I'm flattered you'd like to hear more and not less of my poetics. But for me, there's a certain value in choosing sparse words very carefully and then leaving it succinct. It makes the poem more of a mediation piece and a launching point for the readers' imagination, rather than a pre-prepared literary experience.
