Moonlight, what innocence.
You claim to love the world
Yet you show no love to those in it.
That’s what I thought.
That’s what I wanted to believe.
Then a change.
A change within the wind.
You looked at me.
And I was lost within your eyes.
Struck, you stared at the stars.
And I stunned, stared at the ground.
Until our eyes met again.
You slid your hand down my arm.
Then softly grasped my hand.
And I held on with everything I had.
The world was mine to behold.
Then you asked me to dance.
And we danced.
In the moonlight.
Then our eyes met again.
And I let go.
All I could say.
Is that I wished I’d never let go.
The this be your warning.
My final chance to warn you.
That next time I might not let go.
And this is for you.
I’m just sorry that I‘m not him.
But that I have to be the one to say.
I love you.
What love?
There be no innocence in love.
