I can't pinpoint when you developed
this unguessed at talent for cutting
finding the marrow, wielding the knife
like a pro
leaving me boned
Raw, in a bed grown big as
a hanger, tiny in acres of flat
cold bedding
watching back to back 'friends'
'look' I want to say 'this is how
people live,
'watch' I'd say 'how they laugh
even when they fall in and out of love
it doesn't hurt, not really
not like this.

wow, I agree with the above comment, reading this over and over again, the poem gets better and better, the last stanza is particularly powerful and devastating at the same time.
