These new strands of silver are a legacy
along with the concerned look around the eyes,
she must have looked like this,
-That time I woke-
trying to tease out the thorn in my hand,
and when I had that fever, her fingers
stroking back my home cut fringe.
Two memories of the touch of her,
I keep separate from the stiff embraces,
the reaching across, touching glass.

This is beautiful, Shirley - such tender and delicate images.
Just spotted a typo - 'seperate' should be 'separate' ;)
I really like this one, well done!

I can say no different to what has already been said, yet again yoy imbue a few simple worlds with a whole heap of emotion.

P.S. if anyone asks, tell 'em the "silver streaks" are veeery expensive highlights

Could start a new trend! lol. in truth I am much too vain to let them show, but roots didn't have quite the same poetic ring to it,:~D

I'm secretly proud of my odd bits of grey,
although I do attempt to hide them away,
my mamas hair has darkened instead! xx K

Kahdai, grey is a sign of wisdom, yes? :~}
Kahdai | March 8, 2010 - 19:32
Wisdom, age or stress, more like 'experience of life' I think. :)
