Aye! you may share my bed sir,
as you share my life,
but do not make assumptions sir,
I will not be your wife!
I have no need of money sir,
I already have a home,
I will not take your name sir,
I've a good one of my own!
I will not give myself to you,
but what I am I'll share,
I'll hold you in my heart sir,
but I don't want you in my hair!
I will not change my status sir,
just to please the law,
If loving is illegal sir,
well, the laws an ass, I hear!
I do not seek the blessing
of a church that is not mine,
If loving you's a sin sir,
then, lord god strike me blind!
I will not wear your ring sir,
married badge of gold,
I want you now you're young sir,
but not when you are old!
Do not go on one knee sir,
and beg in front of me
instead, stand here beside me sir,
we'll face life equally,
Do not be heartbroken sir,
come, give me a kiss,
I'm not really a Mrs, sir,
rather, a near Miss.
