His new-found wealth went
straight to his head; the delights
of the shop winked at him
from every counter, every shelf.
“Don’t spend it all at once!”
his uncle had said on his
annual visit from overseas. But
what the heck! Why not?
“A Wagon Wheel, two Penguins –
‘alf a pound of Spanish Gold,
free flying saucers – green ones,
and a bag of aniseed balls.”
“Will that be all, sir? How about
a pack of sweet cigarettes, or
maybe sir would like a Mars bar?”
“No – nuffink else. Fresh out of
the readies. Unless you got somefink...
buy one, get one free, o’course.”
“Tell you what,” the shopkeeper says,
“I’ll do you a deal, but don’t go
'spreading it around, mind.
Come here, son; it’ll be our little secret.
Let’s shake on it. Give me a ‘Please’
and out of the goodness of my heart
I’ll throw in a ‘Thank you’, no charge.”

Julie, I have missed you;-)Sorry to hear about your computer.
As to 'Powder your Face with Sunshine, both Dean Martin and Doris Day(with someone else, who quite escapes my mind), recorded it 1948. It was written by a Carmen Lombardo and again another person that I can't remember, but I hope this helps;-)
My thanks to you for reading and glad you enjoyed.

Oh! used this comment like chat thing I mustn't.Paper
But states Cat people are cleverer We don't have a cat so counts me out.
Their more likely to own Cat's than dogs,a study revealed.
People with degrees were favoured to own Cats than dogs.Because longer time working hours leave less time to devote to a dog, etc;Bristol University long term study.Doesn't say much then people no cats.Mine extra clever people.
I am sure there be a debate on this now on Abctales. What do you say? Congrats: on the cherry!
