I Crave to Save and yet...(I.P.)

from the ABC set Silver Spun Sand Poems

Pick them, fresh from the vine;
Moneymaker, Cherry,
Plum or Beefsteak...
how I just adore to sink
my teeth into their carmine flesh,
to feel their zest against my cheek –
that ‘zing’ that thrills my tongue.

Juice dribbles down my chin...
my dress, but I could care less;
a Yellow Pygmy, a Black Russian,
or a Boxcar Willy, I’m not fussed.

I am addicted to their taste,
their look, their smell.
Sometimes, I suck them
dry to leave their skins
an empty, crinkled shell
but what the hell! They’re
finger-lickin’ good.

Yielding, rich and ripe
just ready for plucking;
cradled in my hand
such unadulterated joy!

Whether pulped, or fried
or even stuffed, I crave to save
at least a few for tomorrow,
but of some things
a hot-blooded girl like me
can never get enough.
To fondle them is ecstasy!
Well ain’t that so, Big Boy?

Hi Tina,

this is brilliant, really made me smile. Love the
last line:- Well ain't that so, Big Boy?
Great IP.

Jenny.

When things are so good, one likes to do them justice.
Why trying to save them for the next day? Better crave for them now and satisfy the taste buds.
A bit of lateral thinking here, dear Tina. Very clever.

Thanks, Luigi...Nothing like a bit of the old 'lateral thinking' most certainly. Pleased you enjoyed and you have a good weekend too;-)

Well, Tina, I found your descriptions delightful and also strangely sensuous (eating and tasting with relish) and erotic. I don't know whether the effect was intended, but it certainly came through to me. I loved it.

Your perception is quite something, Sue. Thank you, once again, for letting me know I hit the spot, for you, at least;-)

So pleased you enjoyed and I really do appreciate your intuitive comments. Thanks, so much;-)

Hi Tina,

A completely different take on my take of the I.P., but brilliant all the same, possibly the most erotic description of stuffing one's face that I've ever come across.

Well David, I couldn't have put it better myself;-)

And as to stuffing, there will definitely be a lot of that around this time of year...what with turkeys and all;-)

This is great - reminds me of a piece of artwork I did once in mixed media/collage called Pomadori (sp?). If I hadn't just had breakfast I would literally have been salivating reading this!

Gosh, seashore. I do hope you didn't choke on your cornflakes;-)

Seriously though, I would have loved to have seen your collage, but I guess I shall just have to leave it to my imagination;-)
