On Making Fruit Salad

from the ABC set Silver Spun Sand Poems

It’s moments like these,
I ache to realise my wildest
fantasies...catch a hint
of ivory-musk drifting
on the ether;

piled high upon your pillow,
pale as star-shine
on a mountain stream,
peach-cheeked Papaya
spilling glistening seeds...

ice-cold half-moons –
slivers of Cantaloupe –
juice drizzling down
your arms, your chin...
and my mouth waters.

Figs – ‘dusky maidens
of the East’, I bring to you
as you tease them apart,
but oh, so gently
as the petals of a flower;

fold back their velvet skin –
the honeyed flesh exposed
like the bud of a rose...
slowly opening

to reveal that scarlet prize,
and, with my lips,
bid me gorge on
those shameless delights
where passions fuse...

A touch of Angostura
bitters...a tornado
of textures, flavours,
and hues that burn
and bleed

and it’s moments
like these, taste
the blush-pink-sweet
of you...
all over again.

I'm blushing as I read this, Tina - talk about juicy!
Whew! I've come over all unecessary...

Very clever.

Hi Tina,

simply so sweet and juicy. This reminded me of a
scene from a film, where a couple are sat on the
floor in the kitchen, feeding each other from the
fridge. Then they make love.

It was such a beautiful scene, but I cannot remember
the name of the film, or the actor and actress.

I really enjoyed reading this piece.

Jenny.

Phew, Coral...I guess you can live up to your name now;-)

Many thanks for reading, and I'm off for a cold shower;-)

Hi there, Jenny. Think I know the one you're talking about but I can't remember the name of it either.

There was another similar scene I remember in a sixties film about 'Tom Jones'. I went with my boyfriend...and hid under the seat;-) Well, I was only fifteen, even though the film was rated an 'X'!!

Pleased you enjoyed;-)

Thanks, Julie...pleased you enjoyed;-)

As for the film, I remember that scene from Cleopatra vividly, but I don't think that's the one that Jenny means. You will have to put your thinking-cap on again, I think, Julie, as will I;-)

Have a good week.
