You say you love me.
You love football, as well;
curries – a pint with your mates,
and the way grass smells
after rain.
And so, you sit...glasses
on the end of your nose,
using a fork as a pointer
having a stab at Einstein,
God, and the Tories –
demolishing
my puff-pastry meat pie
with every jab.
In the meantime, I
will be somersaulting
over molehills
in a whisper of a gown...
making daisy-chains
from buttercups
awash in the sea
of your half-baked theories,
and when you happen
to look for me...
having concluded,
quantum mechanics
is bunkum
you’ll find me gone...
even if you choose
to believe I’m still here...
a bit like the moon...
even when you can’t see it
because,
sometimes,
stuff
just
happens.

Delightful Sand Lady.
There's a lot to be said for...
"...curries - a pint with your mates, and the way grass smells after rain..."

Those damned quantum mechanics have broken my quantum car.
Always a pleasure to read your work.

Completely agree with others - love the way you say
and the way grass smells
after rain
which sets the tone of the poem brilliantly. Well done Tina. :-)

Very enjoyable, Tina...lots going on in this poem...puff-pastry, quantum physics, buttercups, molehills, football - all very good! And who was it said "stuff happens" ? Was it Rumsfeld ?

Seeing as I've been larking about this side of the fence recently, thought I'd pop in for a read of some real poetry. Never a disappointment when I land here.

Ah, this is lovely Tina. Although I disagree that quantum mechanics is bunkum :)
Vive la difference, eh? Or none of us would be here, probably :)
