Hi Tina,

love the fourth stanza:

black and white snowmen
with black and white smiles
black and white magic
in the eyes of a child.

Really lovely verse, but the whole poem sounds really
good, especially in this weather.

Thanks for a beautiful read. Nice one for the IP.

Jenny.

Thank so much, Jenny! The snow look so very lovely here this morning, sparkling in the sunshine...but later when I have to brave the roads to get to Tesco, I think the fascination may be short-lived;-)

'black and white photos

- really love that final stanza, Tina. It all flows so well - great take on the IP :)

A lovely original way to see the snow, I can imagine children chanting this, it flows so well.

danrama | November 30, 2010 - 16:54

I agree with shoe. I picture small girls with multi-coloured knitted mittens chanting this as they skip together:)

My thanks to you, shoe. Exactly what I had running through my mind when I wrote it;-)

Skipping rhymes...how I remember them well:-) 'Salt, mustard, vinegar pepper...Those were the days.

Thanks for your 'colourful' comment, Dan. It was always my ambition to be able to knit mittens, but scarves are my speciality;-)

I was so enjoying this poem - then you had to mention Fulham!!!

Just kidding - an enjoyable and very original piece.

Sorry about that, David;-)

My husband was born just a stone's throw from Craven Cottage, in Putney, as a matter of fact, and it would be no surprise to you to know that he is a staunch supporter of Fulham, to say the very least;-)

Glad you enjoyed, nonetheless;-)
