She did not question him...
no more words to say,
there was so much more to do,
"you have a way with words," she said,
she had watched with sad eyes,
yet said nothing...wearing tainted glasses,
but now she's seen clearly
her ability to wake up,
as she makes her way...
her body tingling
in anticipation of what will be,
no doubt in her heart...
no tears she will shed tonight,
for tomorrow is a new day,
her mind a whirl...of what needs to be done,
swiftly making list upon list,
Solicitors ringing in her ears,
She's been down this road before,
taking life one day at a time...
is all she can do,
"don't ask for forgiveness," she begs of you,
she won't be your puppet...
your slave...she's no fool,
Again it's not easy letting go...
remembering the passion you loved to show,
life has a funny way...
of moving along,
so a million and one things to do,
keeping her busy...her mind off you,
your kisses were so tantalizing...
though really rather uninspiring,
now she must learn... a new page she must turn,
to live without your love,
no more deception...
free to fly just like a dove.

Hi Jenny
Love the simple power and sadness in this latest helping. Great poem, it spoke volumes in a few verses of the sadness and resolution to not return when something beautiful ends.

A break-up is so sad Jenny- especially when you think of the love once shared. You captured it all well here. I doubt there are very many who haven't experienced it!

Thanks Pia,
I totally agree, a lot of people go through this
situation, hopefully coming out the other end, still
intact.
Thankyou for reading and commenting.
Jenny.
