THE CHOSEN ONES ( PART SIXTY SEVEN )

from the ABC set Stories

It was late afternoon when Jonah and Gerth were
returned, they were both sleeping like babies.

Addie approached a couple of Jonah's men. "Have
you a place Jonah and Gerth can sleep, out of the
elements?"

One of the men whose name was Aden, approached Addie. "We only have what you see." The ground would be no place for Jonah and Gerth to recouperate, so Addie walked around the camp, he
asked if anyone had a Wagon that the two men could
sleep in, till they awoke.

One couple, whose names were Luke and Mirea, said
the two men could sleep in their Wagon. "I thank
you so much," said Addie. "I promise there is no
danger with these men, when they awake...but they
will need some hot food, perhaps you Mirea could
boil up some meat to make a broth."

Despite all that Jonah and Gerth had done, the couple were happy to help.

Addie's men took the two sleeping men to the Wagon,
they covered them with bear skins. Luke then turned
to Addie, "how long will they be asleep for?"

"It's hard to tell my friend, but I think they will
sleep for the rest of today."

It was late in the day, people started to build fires, nobody wanted to leave, for fear of missing
anything, so they set up camp, where they were.

Many bad men were taken to the Ship and people
cheered, then they were brought back to sleep the
rest of the day and night.

People were starting to realise, that these humans
from the skies, never meant any harm, so they started to relax.

Into the evening people started to sing and dance,
there were many fires. Drums made from wood and
animal skins could be heard beating out a rhythm,
some people had wooden whistles, some just used
their voice. The merriment went on, long into the
night.

Oh...I don't want it to end, Jenny, and being one of those infuriating people who always read the last page of a book first, it was a real temptation, not to do it this time. But I haven't, so I 'm off to read the penultimate one. I am wondering if all is serene as it would seem from this chapter, but I shall soon find out;-)

Hi Tina,

I agree with you, I don't want it to end, but this
is where I finished and I don't want it to get boring for the reader.

I'm so grateful to you again, I know what you mean
about reading the last page, but I'm glad that you
were'nt tempted.

Thankyou so much for reading and your great comments.

Jenny.
